HANDS and Feet

If you ask some scrapbookers and digital hobbyists what keeps them from drawing people, usually it is hands and feet. Some folks adjust by drawing stick figures and others do cartoony feet of oversize feet or bubble type shoes, etc.

Take a look at some of the designs, cartoons, drawings out there and see how simple human figures are drawn.

Since I'm no artist, I look for simple ways and simple shapes to give a hint of what I am designiing. One way to give the suggestion of feet or shoes or sock clad feet is to start with a simple heart shape and use the distort tool, then the dodge and burn. If you are creating bare feet you can add more details using the dodge and burn tool.

Facebook Has Made Me Lazy

Time was when I diligently wrote something here each day. But then I spent my time writing and enjoying SNR and didn't spend as much time here. Once I retired from that post I loved taking it easy and found the ease of chatting on Facebook to be relaxing.

Ever since that retirement I have had such computer problems that they have taken the fun out of trying to create, but now, hopefully we are getting things back to working order and I have a new computer.

Problem is with a new computer, you gotta get the old stuff on it and some is not going to work and some programs are outdated, etc. Not to mention the ones you can't find the disc for installation or the 100 digit serial number. Then there are the printers that you have to hook up, etc.

Anyway, I hope to get back to sharing and maybe creating some more simple things for you.

Lately I've been thinking about hands and feet. Maybe I will try to learn how to draw them....Hmmmm
