Did you ever think, as you go through a trial or problem, that there are others all over the world going through the same kind of things, some less serious and some that are more serious. When I am reminded of this I stop and say a little prayer for all of us.
It happened to me this morning as I ate some peach oatmeal, all nice and hot and had some tea for breakfast. I thought of medical tests that I have gone through where you have to drink some yucky stuff and how hard it is to get down. I thought how nice it would be if it only tasted as good as oatmeal or something else that had cozy memories attached to it. Right then I said a little prayer for all of those who are going through that kind of thing and that to their taste buds, it would taste good. This reminded me of all of those in various parts of the world who have little or nothing to eat and I asked God to provide for them and help us to use our compassion and gifts wisely in order to help those who need it most.
This is not to speak of me and my prayers but to remind you who would pray for others that you are not alone, yours is not one lone prayer in a world of trouble, but one of millions going up to the Heavens each day . So, don't be discouraged and don't feel alone. When you feel that little nudge to pray, don't dismiss it or say later, do it right then. There may be someone somewhere saying "God, please tell someone to pray for me." I know I've sent up that little prayer and I know others have as well.
Hugs and Prayers,
Thena
