Comebacks

I would rather miss 1000 snappy comebacks to someone's unkind remark that to make that brilliant but hurtful remark that could hurt someone else.

So many celebs are in the news this month paying the consequences for spewing out anger and hatred that is in their hearts. It's been there hidden and just waiting for a chance to escape.  What is it that makes folks so angry? What makes some people treat others badly?

Some people yell, hit and scream, some write letters or make telephone calls and some write hurtful things on message boards about people they don't known and have never met. They think if no blows are exchanged, no one was hurt. But there is a hurt that goes deep into a person's soul. Perhaps that is why some people choose to do these same things. Perhaps they have been hurt and were unable to respond, recover or retaliate in kind. We never know what could push a sensitive person over the edge, we don't know what other people's lives are like. We don't know what could be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Let's do what we can to replace anger and hate with love. We are going to be best buddies with everyone, but we can fill our hearts so full of love that it is what overflows from us. We can can walk away from unkindness and concentrate on doing something good. We can avoid provoking others unnecessarily and try to find the good in others. Let's be the encouragers and let us be encouraged by the wonderful feelings that come from a spirit of love.

Thankful for Enough...

What are you thankful for on this holiday? I am thankful for enough...

Enough food to eat that I don't go hungry and enough to share with others.

Enough money to pay the mortgage and a bit to share with others.

Enough talent to share through publishing books and share the talent God gave me. I believe we have to use what we have if we want Him to bless us with more.

Enough time to work and play and have a nice variety of each.

Enough faith in God to know that He will always be there for me and to trust that my eternity is in His hands.

Enough friends to feel loved.

Enough love from my family that I feel treasured and enough love for them that I treasure them and always will.

It is my prayer that you also have "enough"
