I go to Memory Trends to see the folks! There, I've said it! I'm a bad business person, a non dedicated hobbyist, etc. etc. But, as much as I love this hobby and industry, I love the folks more!
Folks are the owners of the local scrapbook stores, the magazine folks who write, edit and design, the teachers are folks and the online friends- everything comes down to "folks".
Sure, I love to see a new paper line (Ooooh Dreamstreet!) and I admit that HP (Hi Sue! Hi PC!) had me drooling over the newest, biggest and best! and Chatterboxes lovely booth (Hi Carrie!)drew my attention as always. I had to go and admire the work of Autumn Leaves and got to meet Jeff (and hug Rhonna and Tia!).
Of course I was fraught with excitement over Simple Scrapbooks new Digital Direction and all of the digital stuff presented. That was so totally cool! But what fun to get to see Renee Pearson and her hubby, Stacy Julian, Wendy Smedly and the rest of the team of the mag I enjoy so much. And I got to meet April and see her tiny new boy!
We hung out a bit with the Dreamstreet girls and had so much fun. These ladies are so beautiful and so talented. We got the new book Imperfect Lives (signed, thank you so much) and we got so many sheets of lovely paper! (Thanks ladies!)
Chatterbox (thank you Carrie) gave me a Tee shirt and little gift binder with lovely stuff in it that I treasure.
Oh, we met the editors of the wonderful craft mags that we so love. We especially love the Card Maker one! They cover every portion of the hobby world from beads to scrapping! Their group was so lovely to us!
I had my photo taken at the photo booth in Memories booth. I realize I know the Pea names of the ladies we had such fun with Bekzilla (Becky) and Rox. We had a blast. I tried to get into the booth with Sharon and then I could get up to get out and....well you probably should not hear the rest....:-).
Sharon and I went to the PUB dinner and met more totally neat ladies and got to see my buddy Leah Fung who is soooo wonderful!
Oh, as I think back over the time there, I see faces, your faces and your smiles! I see Jenna Lynne, of Jennalynne.com and Linda Saggast who teaches us how to use Adobe, and Sue Martin who teaches us how to use our HP printers and Carrie with Chatterbox, Diva Danielle of Diva Craft Lounge and Jan Mollet Evans who is almost convincing me to go on her next Scrap Cruise, Noralee at Provo (still want one of those green cases!) and of course my buddy Sharon, who went with me and made the trip such fun.Ohh and the girls at Artic Frog who gave us "tatoos"! What fun! I saw Jennifer Wohlenberg, who I have not seen in far too long!
So many more of you, if I missed your name (and I know I did) please sign in here and say hello and know that you made this such a special trip for me. Thank you for your support of not only my books and writings, but support of Bluegrass Publishing which allows me the joy of being able to share my work and to read their other books and enjoy other people's works as well.!
