Mom and Pets
I didn’t think to tell her-
I forgot what she would do,
If she put her hand in my pocket
And pulled out a pet or two.
She handled the frog last Tuesday
With hardly a single sound,
And the caterpillar on Wednesday
She hardly mentioned she found.
But today the neighbors heard her
And the sound echoed far and wide
As she pulled out the pockets of my jeans
And found my pet snake inside!
