God Has Blessed Us

God Has Blessed Us

(Loss of baby girls)

We are as close as sisters

And God has blessed us with each other

With a closeness as if

We had been born of the same mother.

We have shared so much with each other

In our lives from day to day

That we lean upon each other especially

When sadness comes our way.

We celebrate the babies

That were nestled in our wombs

Only to loose the precious infants

Before we could welcome them to their rooms.

But there is comfort in the knowledge

That they reside with God above us

And that they surely must look down on us

And cherish us and love us.

I like to think of them together

Listening to the angels' song

Clapping tiny little hands

As they sweetly sing along.

We do not ever question God's wisdom

Nor do we ever doubt His love

For we know that our sweet angels

Now reside with Him above.

And just as we comfort each other

Through this time of sadness and grief

That our babies have each other

Gives us such sweet relief.

Sometime we will all join them

And we shall forever be

Families complete at last

Through all eternity.

My heart is a scrapbook
Filled with images so sweet
And some of those precious images
Ran about on furry feet.

My heart is a scrapbook
It helps to heal what ails
And so many in those photographs
Have little waggy tails.

My heart is a scrapbook
With so many things I love
Including precious memories
Of pets who now dwell above.

Mom and Pets

I didn’t think to tell her-

I forgot what she would do,

If she put her hand in my pocket

And pulled out a pet or two.

She handled the frog last Tuesday

With hardly a single sound,

And the caterpillar on Wednesday

She hardly mentioned she found.

But today the neighbors heard her

And the sound echoed far and wide

As she pulled out the pockets of my jeans

And found my pet snake inside!

I managed to delete all of my links. I had started a Devotional Blog and wanted to delete the scrapbooking links only from it...and I deleted them from both sites...sigh....

An oldie to share

This is a bad photo but it was taken at CKU Nashville a couple of years ago and I had such fun there and met such wonderful folks that it brings back sweet memories.

My friend Shirley and I (with absolutely no musical background) felt the call to write a children’s musical. We both had just enough musical knowledge to write down the treble section of the music and then turn the rest of the score over to our pianist friend who did a wonderful job of putting our tunes on paper.

As our pianist worked on my particular songs she made the comment that they were syncopated. What a cool word! I loved it and when I looked into more of what it meant musically I thought that it could also apply to our lives.

Only a few months later I was back in the work force and spent a number of years in jobs that allowed for no creative outlet. I felt a need to get back to something creative and I thought of that music…that irregular moment from bar to bar usually concentrating on the weak link. I felt like my life was in a state of syncopation….I was not using my most powerful beat…my creativity, just office skills, which left me little fulfillment.

The good news is that finally I was able to retire and now I am synchronized, in sync or have found my dedicated rhythm and am singing a new happy and creative tune!

Like Mommy...Like Daughter

One of those Times

Every once in a while  I feel I should back away from scrapping and leave it to the younger, hipper and more talented, the ones who are always published and receiving all the honors that seem to always be out of my reach. Back when I first started scrapping and digital scrapping I felt like I had something to offer, something new and something I wanted to share. Now and then, I find myself thinking that I'm not needed  and have nothing to offer the scrapping world. I don't mean that in a self pitying way, but just matter of fact. And in those times I think I will just bow out quietly and noone will notice...but then something wonderful happens that keeps me in the game and brings the fun back into it for me...:-)
