Thankful for Enough

I am not rich except in family and friends, my home is humble compared to most and my "new" car is 12 years old (at least).  I have a small family and live too far away to visit them frequently but thanks to the internet and cell phones, I can say hello everyday.My home is comfortable enough and my car is big enough and my family is perfect for me. I have great friends at home and online.

I am recently retired and now embracing my life as an author, photogragher and digital scrapbooker. I am not a household name but I am known to a few folks as a poet, author of books for Bluegrass Publishing,  to some as a digital scrapper and to others as a DT memember for Cottagearts and writer for PCCrafter and  Simply Sentiments.

I have had the fun of sharing my layouts with folks via Simple Scrapbooks, Legacy, Paperkuts, and one Cantata book. I love being involved in various message boards and having special spaces for my poems on some such as My Daughters Wish and of course my own Scrapchicks.com along with some friends.

These are not earthshaking things but they make life fun and exciting for me. I get to share with friends and make new ones. It is enough to make me happy. It is enough to make me thankful.

And most of all I am thankful for my faith and thankful for God who gives me what I need and knows exactly what is enough for me.

God Cares

I Scrap for Free

I am going to learn to computer scrap (I told my husband) and I will scrap for free. No more going to the scrapbook store and spending big bucks...I will create pages on the computer!

Week 2
I have created some wonderful pages on the computer, but now I need a color printer in order to reap the full rewards of my labor.

Week 3
The printer is so wonderful but it is a shame to paste my one of a kind photos on the pages when I could scan them (if I had a scanner ) and do such creative pages.

Week 4
Adobe Photoshop would be a good investment.

Week 5
I need more RAM

Week 6
I need more Hard Drive

Week 7
I need a faster computer

Week 8
I need more software

Week 9
If I had a laptop I could take my scrapbooking with me...

Week 10
My software doesn't all work with XP on the lap top...I will probably need to upgrade most of my programs....

Week 11
I joined the neatest club...a Hug Club!!!

Week 12
I could create my own templates if I bought some flowers, and vases and photoframes and antiques...

Week 13
I need more RAM

Week 14
I need more Hard Drive

Week 15
I need a faster computer

Week 16
I need a better scanner

Week 17
I need a better printer


PS I forgot about the CD Writer......yep, had to have that...


Husband overhead to friend:
My wife scraps for free....yep, she just uses a 4000.00 computer  and 20,000 worth of software....

A bit later...

Digital Cameras are much more affordable now...I found a little Casio at Walmart .....

Few months later

Sony has a MVC FD91 that uses floppy disks...that would really save time and be so convenient....

And then

I could take better photos if I had a camera with a better lense and more pixels....I know that last month I didn't know what a pixel was but now I just know that I need more of them....

Minolta has a really neat camera that has 5 MP and zoom lense and is top of the line....It is pricey but I've saved up...

Cost...Oh, only 36 dollars more than I saved....

WOW, the lighting in here is so awful ....I need to look into some of the lights advertised in Shutterbug...oh, that is a cool magazine that costs a bit but is sooo helpful in finding the equipment that I need to create my artistic templates etc., that I can market...yes and make money...right...well, soon...if I had the right lighting....

And the next year....

Er...honey, everyone is talking about the new Cannon Digital SLR ...D10...I believe it is...and I think that my work would really improve if I had a better camera.....

and I called a contractor today....we really need more room.....well, uh, to store our cameras, and lights and printers and scanners and props for my studio...studio? what studio....well, the one I called the contractor about ...of course....

Just a little card to say
That I'm thinking of you today.
It's so hard to find the right words;
I'm sure all of the trite ones you have heard.
But though sometimes I stammer and stumble
And my most sincere thoughts come out in a jumble...
Please know that you are always on my mind
And a friend such as you is a rare treasure to find.

Not a day goes by that you are not in my heart
And we are close in hearts and spirit
Even when we are far apart.
Our friendship is always special to me
And for that precious gift I shall be grateful eternally!

What Can I Do to Make God Smile?

I'm so excited for this one. It should be coming out soon. The editors have to keep tissues handy as they work on it. It is going to be helpful for those who have to scrapbook memorial pages or create compassionate sympathy cards. Also, it will contain inspirational verses to help through the tough times.

I Need a Secretary

I was thinking this morning that if I had a secretary, I could be more efficent but why stop there?

If I had a housekeeper I would have more time to do other things.

If I had a gardener my lawn would look nicer.

If I had a maid and a cook, that part of my life would go smoother........but wait a minute! Where does the line stop before someone else is living your life??

So look around at all the rich and famous-how much of their lives are they living? LOL! Well, I don't have to worry because I am responsible (or irresponsible:?) for all of mine!
