Just a little note of appreciation for my good friends at www.pccrafter.com . I hope you will go by and visit them, check out their artworks, and visit with the ladies on the messageboard. They are so kind and sell my books in their shopping area. They also run a little article I write each month on digital scrapbooking using Hugware.
And besides all that, they are just nice folks! :-)
PS...I just noticed they are having a sale...so hurry.....
Once upon a time in a kingdom far away in a land called Cyberville, a woman had a wonderful and unique idea.
"I will, " said she, to no one in particular " invent the message board, a place where ladies from all across the earth can meet online
and converse with each other....ladies, from far and wide, hither and yon, to and fro....(well, you get the point, but this lady tended to be fraught with verbosity).
The ladies called in her husband who was known far and wide, hither and yon, (yada yada yada) for his expertise in creating things that her little cyber heart desired and verily and henceforth, the message board was created. All the ladies of Cyberville rejoiced and promptly emailed the url of the message board all across the earth (say it with me...far and wide...hither and yon, to and fro...) until the message board was soon abuzz with the happy chatter of the masses. The woman said, "Verily, let us make this board into a place for discussing crafts". And it became so.
All was well for awhile until crafts was determined to be too board a term and crafts begat needlework which soon (after careful thought and consideration) begat quilting which begat crochet which begat Miscellaneous.
Another few months went by and someone mentioned scrapbooking. The outcry was that that was not a recognized craft and would have to have it's own separate board. And the boards were now three in number being Crafts and subdivisions, Quilting (subdivisions being hand and machine) and Miscellaneous.(whose offspring were yet to be determined)
And so was born the board which they called Scrapbooking.
Meanwhile the offspring of the crafts board each became too big as subtitles became so abundant and populated the board, Each craft was given its own board which was divided into CRBB and NCRBB and the Cybervillilians were happy and contently crafting and chatting.
As the scrapbooking board grew, the begats began again........say it with me........Scrapbooking begat, paper scrapbooking, begat digital scrapbooking which begat hybrid with each offspring bringing forth fruit know as SBR and NSBR. Soon Paper Scrapbooking begat tooting and thus the tooting and non tooting sections were born
while the digital board begat designers and non designers.
For the most part the citizens of Cyyberville prospered and lived happily together except for the occasional bought of PMS (Pre Mag Selection) and sometimes board members happily crossed the cyber paths leading from one MB to the other. When disasters happened in cyberville or anywhere around the globe, all those connected by the landlines, cable modems, DSL and NFL (?) rushed to help in spiritual, physical and financial ways. This brought all the cybervillians together in a stronger bond that ever before.
A strange thing began to happen as more and more Quilters mingled with the general crafters and more digital scrappers mingled with general and paper and (insert audible gasp) Quilters mingled with digital etc and from these the boards begat........Friendship. And behold the board of friendship crossed all the barriers and the people came and went with great happiness and as they shared with each other, they discovered that not only were the just like all of the other board members......they were the other board members. Each one had a passion for something worth sharing.
And there was contentment on the boards at Cyberville and the lady began to ponder a board for magazines.......paper and ezines.......but that's another story............
